A marine thunderstorm wind gust of 42 mph (36 kt) was measured by Weatherbug Mesonet station MRCSC at the Charter Club of Marco Beach.

A tropical wave over central Cuba interacted with a low pressure in the upper levels to increase atmospheric instability and lead to rounds of strong showers and thunderstorms. Strong wind gusts and hazardous marine conditions were the main impact across the South FL Gulf waters.
