An upper trough northwest of the Aloha State and a nearby, moisture-laden surface trough combine to induce heavy showers over parts of Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii. The rain caused small stream and drainage ditch flooding, and ponding on roadways. No serious injuries or property damage were reported.
