A personal weather station in the Lester Park neighborhood recorded a gust of 40 mph with the storm.

Storms developed ahead of a warm front during the evening hours of the 23rd and ahead of a cold front during the early morning hours of the 24th across northeastern Minnesota. As the storms moved over Lake Superior, they produced strong winds with the highest gust being 57 mph that was recorded by a large lake vessel.
