Event narrative

The Iron County Emergency Manager reported six feet of water flowed over a flood control barrier in Paragonah, resulting in flash flooding in the city. Several homes were flooded. Fifty people were stranded in Red Creek Canyon east of the city.

An active monsoon surge brought several back-to-back days of thunderstorms producing heavy rain, damaging wind gusts, and hail across the state.
