An upper level trof crossed the region during the afternoon and evening of the 23rd with a cold pool aloft. Diurnal heating and the cold pool aloft provided enough instability to support thunderstorm development An isolated severe thunderstorm produced large hail in central Washington county along with 30 to 40 mph wind gusts. A plowable accumulation of pea size hail also occurred. Other thunderstorms also produced small hail.
