In an environment with temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s, dew points in the upper 60s to low 70s, and strong low level instability, a subtle surface trough was able to produce scattered storms across north-central Kentucky. This resulted in downed trees and power lines. Lightning started a fire on a power pole and there was one report of severe hail.
