The entire zone went from Exceptional(D4) drought to Extreme(D3) drought through the month. The Buckhorn Cooperative Observer reported 4.59 inches of precipitation which was 1.82 inches above normal.
Wider weather episode
Near to above average rainfall helped to improve drought conditions over most of southern New Mexico, especially closer to the Texas border region and the Sacramento Mountains.
