Severe(D2) drought continued across the entire zone during the month of July. The Cooperative Observer in Hillsboro reported 2.07 inches of precipitation which was 0.01 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

Near to above average rainfall helped to improve drought conditions over most of southern New Mexico, especially closer to the Texas border region and the Sacramento Mountains.
