Event narrative

Multiple grain augers were blown over. Severe crop damage was observed. Two grain bins were destroyed with damage to three others.

Wider weather episode

Strong to severe thunderstorms were expected across much of southern Colorado on this day, especially across the plains. Severe storms did occur late in the day into the evening, with damaging wind gusts the main threats. A few gusts up to around 75-85 mph were also observed.
