Widespread frost in inland Collier County produced mainly light damage to bean crops. Temperatures at the 6 foot level were in the mid 30s.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front moved through the region on February 1st, followed by a few days of below normal temperatures. Continental high pressure settled over the Florida peninsula on the night of February 3rd and morning of February 4th, leading to clear nighttime skies and near calm wind which caused ideal radiational cooling.
