Spotter UN-114 relayed a report of ping pong sized hail east just east of La Grande, OR.

Wider weather episode

An upper low off the coast of California continued to advect low level moisture into the forecast area. During the afternoon and evening, another shortwave moving across the region initiated convective activity over the Blue Mountains, that then pushed east across the Grande Ronde valley with severe hail.
