Event narrative
Mud and other debris flowed through the dry Brumley Creek bed as a result of heavy rain over the Pack Creek Fire burn scar.
Wider weather episode
A broad midlevel trough moved across eastern Utah and acted on ample residual monsoonal moisture to produce numerous showers and thunderstorms across the area. Some storms produced gusty winds to 70 mph as well as heavy rain which led to localized debris flows in San Juan County.
