Event narrative

Two inches of rain in less than an hour southwest of Rio Rico caused roads in the area to become flooded and impassable.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms developed during the afternoon and moved west or southwest across southeast Arizona into the evening. The strongest storms produced damaging winds and flash flooding in the Dragoon and St. David areas.
