Long period swells associated with Hurricane Grace in the southern Gulf of Mexico reached the Middle Texas coast on the 21st. Tides reached the dunes due to the long period swells during the morning hours of the 21st for the beaches from Port Aransas south to north Padre Island. Tides washed up on to Whitecap Boulevard in north Padre Island. Tides reached 2 feet MSL with a storm surge of 1 foot.
