An automated residential Tempest weather station measured several wind gusts in the range of 37 to 45 knots.
Wider weather episode
Numerous gale-force wind gusts were recorded in association with showers and thunderstorms as a tropical wave moved slowly west through the Florida Keys. The tropical wave became amplified due to a middle-to-upper level trough of low pressure progressing westward in advance.
