Event narrative

A southeast wind gust of 56 knots and sustained wind of 37 knots was measured at Key West International Airport. A few small tree limbs were downed, however no significant power outages resulted.

As Hurricane Ida intensified while moving north through the Gulf of Mexico, a squall containing brief severe wind gusts occurred across the New Town section of Key West.
