Event narrative

Heavy rain resulted in flash flooding of the East Fork of the Virgin River. The flood wave started near the East Fork of the Virgin River near Glendale, which rose from 16 CFS to 544 CFS, corresponding to a 3 foot rise. The flood wave grew downstream from additional heavy rain, where the East Fork of the Virgin River near Springdale rose from 45 CFS to 2410 CFS, corresponding to a 6 foot rise.
