A seasonably strong shortwave rotated over the Great Lakes to produce a second round of severe thunderstorms across all of northern Michigan during the afternoon and evening of 8/11. The strongest storms tracked over and east of Kinross, MI and over the M-32 corridor from the Gaylord area into Alpena.
