A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down several trees along Route 104 near Mount Pleasant Mills.
Wider weather episode
A broken line of showers and a few thunderstorms developed ahead of a cold front that was approaching central Pennsylvania during the late afternoon and evening of September 8, 2021. One particular cell along this line intensified over Mifflin County and produced sporadic wind damage as it progressed eastward across Snyder and Northumberland counties. This cell also produced two weak tornadoes (an EF-0 and an EF-1) in Snyder County.
