Event narrative

The eastern half of the zone remained in Extreme(D3) drought while the west remained in Severe(D2) drought. The Buckhorn Cooperative Observer reported 0.23 inches of precipitation which was 0.84 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

Even though September was a generally dry month, there was no change to drought conditions compared to the end of August.
