Cold advection behind Monday's thunderstorm line and cold frontal passage allowed for sufficient instability to develop over Lake Ontario for some early morning waterspouts. As the day ensued, shear increased, so while the waterspout threat diminished, the threat for gusty winds in showers increased, resulting in isolated convective wind gusts along the shoreline.
