NEDOR and RAWS mesonet stations reported blizzard conditions with strong winds gusting 35-50 MPH and whiteout conditions per local highway webcams.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and hail developed over the Nebraska Panhandle during the early afternoon. These storms were on the warm side of a strong system that brought snowfall farther west in Wyoming and high winds. Wind gusts as high as 74 MPH were measured in the Nebraska Panhandle while portions of northern Sioux County experienced blizzard conditions early in the morning on the 13th.
