The Taylor Airport ASOS reported a peak wind gust of 62 MPH at 1120 PM MST. The winds gusted over 58 MPH from around 110 AM to 130 AM MST. Petrified Forest National Monument reported a peak wind gust of 71 MPH at 153 AM MST. The highest gust at the Winslow Airport was 59 MPH at 1156 PM MST.
Wider weather episode
A deep polar low dropped down from Canada and across The Desert Southwest with very gusty winds and plummeting snow levels. High temperatures dropped 15-20 from 11 October to 12 October.
