Several locations reported minimum temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees on December 11 and December 12.

Wider weather episode

A cold and dry airmass settled in over the area on December 10. With mainly clear skies and light winds prevailing during the following night, temperatures plunged below the freezing mark across much of the San Joaquin Valley resulting in the first freeze of the season. The Kern County Deserts experienced the first hard freeze of the season during the mornings of December 11 and December 12.
