Event narrative

A tornado touched down west of Elliott Road and traveled east parallel to and south of Ham Reid Road causing significant structural damage to around a dozen homes and minor damage to several more in the neighborhood. Reports from Calcasieu sheriff indicated a woman was injured when a window was blown into their home. A second person suffered a deep laceration to the leg as a result of blowing debris. The tornado weakened as it crossed Lake street and lifted as it passed along Aberdeen Drive. Max estimated wind speed was 130 MPH.
