Multiple reports on social media of trees down in the Redmond and Bellevue vicinity, making for road detours or road closures. In Redmond, KC Road services reported overhead wires down on 204th Place N.E. near SR 202 around 1500L, causing the road to be closed until wires & trees are safely removed. In Bellevue, a social media posts reported at Sammamish HS at 9:10am- the wind knocked down a big branch which took down a power line, obstructing the side road. Another social media post indicated a tree fallen on a house in Issaquah, with no major damage and no reported injuries.
Wider weather episode
An active weather pattern set up in October, bringing multiple rounds of wind and precipitation to both the lowlands and mountains of western Washington. A particularly stronger system in late October was responsible for stronger winds, heavier precipitation, and high surf. A High Wind Warning was in effect for the Coast, Western Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Northern Interior locations, with a Wind Advisory for much of the Puget Sound vicinity and Eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca.
