The Port Isabel Water Level Observation Network (PTIT2) reported a 34 knot (39 mph) wind gust associated with the strong thunderstorms moving eastward across the region at 1:00 PM and 1:24 PM CST.

Wider weather episode

Gusty showers and thunderstorms, associated with a cold front, moved offshore early in the afternoon on November 18th. Some of these thunderstorms produced strong wind gusts that were recorded at some of the marine observing platforms along the coast between Port Mansfield and the mouth of the Rio Grande.
