The SPI Brazos Santiago TCOON (BZST2) reported a 38 knot (44 mph) wind gust associated with the strong thunderstorms moving eastward across the region between 1:12 PM and 1:24 PM CST. Several gusts of 34 knots (39 mph) or greater were reported between 12:42 PM CST and 2:00 PM CST.
Wider weather episode
Gusty showers and thunderstorms, associated with a cold front, moved offshore early in the afternoon on November 18th. Some of these thunderstorms produced strong wind gusts that were recorded at some of the marine observing platforms along the coast between Port Mansfield and the mouth of the Rio Grande.
