Event narrative

NOS tide gauge at Springmaid Pier in Myrtle Beach measured a water level of 8.33 ft MLLW at 918 AM EST. Coastal flooding entered some homes in the Cherry Grove area and entered some businesses on Atlantic Ave in Garden City. A car flooded on Shore Drive in Myrtle Beach and one person needed to be rescued as a result.

Wider weather episode

A coastal storm combined with high astronomical tides resulted in coastal flooding along the northeast SC coast.
