WYDOT mesonet station Shirley Rim (WY44) 2 miles northwest of Shirley Basin along WY487 measured maximum wind gust at 8:46 PM MST on the 11th.
Wider weather episode
After recent snowfall earlier in the week, strong winds spread across much of southeast Wyoming resulting in widespread blowing snow and blizzard conditions in spots. Portions of Interstates 25 and 80 were closed for an extended period of time due to winter conditions and crashes.
