Event narrative

A line of showers and thunderstorms associated with a cold front swept through the Lower Texas Coast and over Gulf waters. A peak gust of 40 knots was recorded at 6:06PM CST at the SPI Brazos Santiago, TX (BZST2) Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) site. Several additional gusts of 34 knots or greater were observed between 6:06PM CST and 7:30PM CST.

Wider weather episode

A late-November cold front swept through the Rio Grande Valley/Deep South Texas and the Lower Texas Coast during the afternoon and evening of November 25th (Thanksgiving Day 2021). Some convective showers fired up along the cold front as it entered the region and resulted in several measured gusts above 34 knots across the Gulf Waters.
