Event narrative

A line of showers and thunderstorms associated with a cold front swept through the Lower Texas Coast and over Gulf waters out to 60 nm. A peak gust of 41 knots was recorded at BUOY 42020 (LLNR 1405) at 3:40PM CST. Several gusts over 34 knots were reported between 3:40PM CST and 4:40PM CST.

Wider weather episode

A late-November cold front swept through the Rio Grande Valley/Deep South Texas and the Lower Texas Coast during the afternoon and evening of November 25th (Thanksgiving Day 2021). Some convective showers fired up along the cold front as it entered the region and resulted in several measured gusts above 34 knots across the Gulf Waters.
