Event narrative
Heavy rain resulted in standing water in the Portland Metro area. There were traffic accidents and power outages affecting about 2000 customers. A tree fell across highway 217 near Scholls Ferry Road. In the Columbia River Gorge, rock slides were reported between Multnomah Falls and Larch Mountain.
Wider weather episode
Heavy rains produced by an atmospheric river brought river flooding to portions of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. In addition, high tide backed up rivers and creeks in low lying areas along the coast, enhancing flooding.
