A trained spotter reported that 9.7 inches of snow has fallen in Haines, AK. 6.7 inches of that snow fell since 0800. Precipitation has now transitioned to rain as of 1430.

Wider weather episode

A gale force low pressure system moved inland from the Gulf of Alaska bringing widespread snow to the northern Alaska Panhandle.
