A wintry mix quickly changed to freezing rain where .01 inches of ice accretion took place.

A southwest flow aloft overran a retreating and shallow cold air mass along a weak stationary boundary. This resulted in a brief but impactful period of wintry mix of precipitation which included freezing rain during the early morning hours and into the initial stages of the morning commute, but most impacts occurred just before the start of the main part of the morning commute.
