Event narrative

Several pictures and videos received of a waterspout spawned from a strong thunderstorm west of Marco Island and Isle of Capri moving towards shore. Eventually this waterspout moved onshore as a tornado.

An area of low pressure moving across the SE United States dragged its associated cold front across the Florida peninsula, bringing severe thunderstorms to the region. A band of thunderstorms moved through the area, with strong winds aloft providing the necessary ingredients for a few waterspouts/tornadoes as well as strong and gusty straight line winds.
