An upper-level disturbance triggered a period of snow during the afternoon and evening of the 28th. Snowfall totaled around an inch in northern Virginia with 1 to 2 inches in the Shenandoah Valley as well as central Virginia. Snowfall amounts around 3 inches were reported in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
