Event narrative

NWS employee reported 6 inches in a 12 hour period on November 11th from 3am-3pm AKST at the location of the office. However, other reports that came in from around Anchorage were 12-18 with a few isolated 20-23 especially on the east side of town and the Anchorage Hillside.

Wider weather episode

A storm system moving northward from the Gulf of Alaska towards Prince William Sound sent precipitation northward. All areas were cold enough for snow from this event resulting in widespread heavy snowfall across Southcentral Alaska which included the Kenai Peninsula, Anchorage Bowl, and the Matanuska Valley.
