Multiple reports were called in of widespread 6 to 11 inch amounts of snow across the Matanuska Valley.

Wider weather episode

A storm system moving northward from the Gulf of Alaska towards Prince William Sound sent precipitation northward. All areas were cold enough for snow from this event resulting in widespread heavy snowfall across Southcentral Alaska which included the Kenai Peninsula, Anchorage Bowl, and the Matanuska Valley.
