Union Pacific Railroad mesonet station measured maximum wind gust near the town of Medicine Bow.

Wider weather episode

Widespread high winds across southeast Wyoming closed out the month of January ahead of a cold frontal passage with 85 mph wind gusts being reported along Interstate 80 west of Laramie. Extended road closures along Interstate 80 between Laramie and Rawlins were reported due to crashes and truck blow overs.
