An upper-level disturbance triggered a period of snow. Snowfall amounts averaged around 1 to 3 inches across central Virginia near the Blue Ridge Mountains, as well as northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. Localized amounts around 3 to 5 inches were reported along the ridges.
