The observer at Steuben measured nine inches of snow in less than 24 hours. Schools were closed throughout the area on the 6th due to impacts from the heavy snow.

A winter storm tracking across the Upper Great Lakes brought widespread heavy snow to Upper Michigan from the 5th into the 6th.
