Event narrative

Snow began around midnight on December 18th, with a few inches of new snow accumulation by daybreak (on the 18th). Snow then quickly became heavier, with over a foot reported in a 12 hour period from 6am on the 18th to 6pm on the 18th. Snow then quickly tapered into the 19th. Snoqualmie Pass also received new snowfall, but snowfall amounts were not heavy enough to reach winter storm criteria.

Wider weather episode

Another strong Pacific Storm system brought heavy snow to the mainly the North and Central Cascades. The frontal system also brought breezy winds to the Western Washington lowlands, but no notable impacts and/or high wind were verified.
