The Springerville Airport ASOS reported a peak wind gust of 79 MPH at 400 AM. St Johns Airport had a peak wind gust of 60 MPH at 157 AM.

A shortwave trough moved across Arizona with a with a low- level jet maximum. This brought strong surface winds to much of the state.
