Severe drought ended across Hardin County by the middle of May as generous spring-time rainfall persisted in central Iowa.

Despite an increase in rainfall, the long duration of the drought kept severe drought conditions over Hardin County through the end of April.

Precipitation during the month of March did increase across Hardin county with amounts near normal. There was some minor improvement in drought conditions but severe drought continued through the end of the month.
