Due to a combination of heavy rain and strong winds, a semi-trailer carrying logs overturned on U.S. Highway 641 south of Murray. The driver was ejected from the cab and died (indirect). Highway 641 was closed for several hours.
Eyewitnesses observed lightning strike next to a woman on the campus of Murray State University. The 50-year-old woman immediately collapsed. CPR was administered, and she died shortly thereafter at a Tennessee hospital.

A tree was uprooted and fell onto a manufactured home at Pine Street and 1st Street in Murray. At the time, flood waters were 8 inches deep in the main floor of the home. The saturated soil likely made it easier for the tree to be uprooted. The home was essentially destroyed.

Flood water from the Clarks River was 2 to 4 inches deep in the Calloway County Fire-Rescue substation in Almo. The substation has never flooded before. Flood water caused minor damage to a nearby home and got into the crawl space of another.

At around 1800CST, five vehicles were stranded in high water on Hopkins Rd. Hopkins Rd was closed from KY-464 to Hickory Grove Church Rd. Approximately 2-2.5 inches of rain had fallen in the area at that point, with another inch or so of rain during the evening hours.
