One fatality and two injured when three members of a family were apparently caught in an undertow on Grand Isle.

A rip current at Grand Isle pulled six people fishing away from the shore. One person drowned.

Ida's inner eyewall moved across the far western end of Grand Isle with estimated winds of around 155mph. Every structure on the island suffered damage, and 40-50% of the structures on the island were completely destroyed, especially on the western end of the island.

Storm surge flooding of 4 to 6 ft above normal flooded low lying areas, roadways and propety from Grand Isle through the Lafitte areas. Approximately 1500 structures were flooded in this area. The high water took several weeks to fully drain from some areas.

Numerous structures experienced flooding, especially in Grand Isle.

Storm Surge breached the Grand Isle burrito levee in numerous locations, with inundation of 10-11 ft on the west end of the island and 5-6 ft on the east end of the island. Some lower sitting structures were knocked off their pilings.

A few tropical storm force gusts of 40 to 50 mph were measured across the parish, but no significant impacts were reported. Based on gauge data, inundation of around 1 ft likely affected portions of Grand isle.

Zeta produced widespread wind damage throughout the parish as a result of strong winds. While no official stations in the parish reported sustained hurricane force winds, damage seen by NWS employees on a survey were consistent with category 2 hurricane wind speeds . Downed trees…

Delta produced minor storm surge flooding from Grand Isle to the northern end of Barataria bay. The Grand Isle tide gauge recorded a peak of 1.93 ft MHHW. The Barataria Bay tide gauge recorded a peak of 3.78 NAVD88.

Reports of minor to moderate storm surge inundation across lower portions of Jefferson Parish with observations ranging from 2.36 ft MHHW on the 21st at 0130CDT to 4.39 ft NAVD88 on the 21st at 0215 CDT.

Occasional to frequent tropical storm force wind gusts were noted in the parish with a peak wind gust of 45 knots measured at the Grand Isle C-MAN station during late evening hours of the 12th.

The National Ocean Service gauge at Grand Isle reported 2 feet of storm surge. This caused minor coastal flooding which resulted in water covering low lying roadways around Grand Isle and Louisiana Highway 1. The maximum water depth over the roadway was estimated at 1 foot.

Tides of 2 to 4 feet above normal tide levels resulted in widespread flooding of low lying terrain and roadways including in the Lafitte and Barataria communities.

Approximately 100 homes had minor flooding in in the Laffitte and Crown Point area. In the Grand Isle areas flooding of low lying property occurred on the bay sides.
