Lower St. Bernard Parish storm history

Several inches of snow fell across the parish beginning in the early morning hours and tapering off mid afternoon.

Temperatures were below freezing for approximately 60 hours from the evening of January 20th through the afternoon of January 23rd. The coldest period was the morning of January 22nd when air temperatures and wind chills dropped into the 15 to 20 degree range across the parish.

Francine brought generally minor impacts to the parish. Strong wind gusts damaged a few power lines and poles, but no major damage was reported to any structures.

Multiple days of high tides impacted the parish with many roads inundated outside of levee protection areas. Florissant Highway in Yscloskey and Highway 46 wer impassible at times with 2 to 3 feet of water over the roadways.
