A tree fell down on a mobile home on Rougon Rd.

A vehicle crashed into a flooded canal leading to one fatality. One other remains missing.

The parish suffered mainly minor wind impacts with a few trees down and some minor structural damage to roofs. At the peak, approximately 50% of the parish was without power.

Delta produced tropical storm force winds resulting in minor to moderate impacts across the parish. Peak wind gusts were estimated in the 60 to 70 mph range. Three homes suffered structural damage during the storm, and the parish responded to 42 calls regarding downed power lines…

Six to eight inches of rain fell on Friday 8/12 across West Baton Rouge Parish, leading to flash flooding generally over the western half of the parish. Several roads were closed due to high water and approximately 40 homes suffered flood damage.

Hurricane Gustav affected nearly 300 homes with 5 homes being destroyed, 20 receiving major damage, and 29 minor damage. Many businesses also received damage and numerous trees and utility poles were knocked down. The damage was caused by the high winds associated with Gustav.

A combination of heat and humidity allowed heat indices to climb into the 113-115 degree range on July 23rd, which meet extreme heat conditions.
