Downed tree limbs and power lines and widespread power outages occurred due to wind gusts of up to around 60 mph.

Law Enforcement reported 6 to 8 inches of measured snow at various parts of the county.

There were numerous reports of downed trees, limbs and power lines in the Hastings area.

Several trees were snapped or uprooted and a report of hail up to an inch in diameter was also received.

A trained spotter reported one inch diameter hail four miles west of Parmalee.

The public reported that multiple trees were blown down and that one tree fell onto a house.

Up to around a half an inch of freezing rain was reported across portions of Barry county. A third of an inch of freezing rain was reported in Middleville.

A half a foot to foot of snow fell across Barry county. This combined with very strong winds which gusted to around 50 mph resulted in blizzard conditions.

There were several reports of one to nearly two feet of snow across portions of Barry county. Hastings received 21.5 inches of snow.

A large tree limb was blown down onto power lines that were also downed.

Several large tree limbs were blown down near Podunk.

Trained spotters reported eight to twelve inches of snow across the county.

Four to eight inches of snow fell across Barry county January 5-6th.

Wind gusts estimated at up to 65 mph caused scattered power outages and peeled the portion of a gym room off of Thornapple Kellogg high school in Middleville. No injuries or fatalities occurred.

Four to eight inches of lake effect snow fell. This in conjunction with bitterly cold air and gusty winds that resulted in dangerously cold wind chills as cold as 20 to 40 below zero at times.

A quarter to a half an inch of freezing rain was reported along with heavy sleet at times. The combination of freezing rain, heavy sleet and strong winds caused power outages.
